Coach of football Team Lagos, Yusuf Adeshina has admitted that their defeat against Team360 Football Club of Surulere in a friendly match played on Friday morning was a wake up call.
Adeshina disclosed this after his team suffered 0-2 to Team360 FC in a friendly match played at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
The friendly match was organized in preparation for Team Lagos ahead of national sports festival elimination scheduled for next month in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Adeshina while speaking with sports247.ng after the encounter said he was not worried about the result saying that the defeat exposed the team’s weakness.
“It was not a bad game for us despite our defeat. We played against a good side but it was unfortunately we lost to them. Don’t forget that we selected these players from the various clubs in the state and they were not be able to play together for long time. By and large we are still assessing them and we have seen some players that lived up to expectations while some players played below expectations in some friendly matches we have played so far, “he said.
Adeshina who won silver medal in the last sports festival in Edo disclosed that there are some players that would disengage from Team Lagos on Saturday and assured Lagos fans good outing in the elimination finals in Ibadan.
Reacting to the victory, President of Team360, Hamzat Akeem Oladimeji said it was a good match and commended his players for the job well done. He also praised Team Lagos for their doggedness and fighting spirit exhibited throughout the encounter.
Meanwhile Semiu Okanlawon opened the goal scoring for Team360 in the 40th minutes.
The second half was tough as both teams missed some scoring chances. Effort by Team Lagos to get equalizer proved abortive as Team360 were compact in defence. Jacob Hungo goal in the 70th minutes was Team360 needed to confirm their supremacy over their opponents.
