Super Eagles goalkeepers’ trainer, Alloy Agu has promised that all shot-stoppers invited to camp for Saturday’s match against Libya will get equal opportunities to play themselves into contention for the starting role in Uyo.

Though many observers are wont to believe that Elche of Spain star, Francis Odinaka Uzoho is the confirmed No.1 in the Eagles, Agu told sports247.ng that all the netminders will be weighed on current form.

The former national team goalkeeper went on to declare that the crew will even extend opportunities to other keepers who have not been invited, as he says they will look in all directions for the best.

Ago revealed that the Eagles coaches have plans to give other keepers their own chances to compete for a shirt in the national team.

While speaking to sports247.ng on the Eagles’ goalkeeping department ahead of this weekend’s 2019 AFCON qualifier against Libya, Agu also said the crew want keen competition in the shot-stoppers’ zone.

Agu stressed: “We want the goalkeeping department to be stiffer than what it is now, because we are primed to get only the best for Nigeria.

“We understand what is expected of us, likewise the players. We are all in the race to get the Eagles back to playing at the AFCON next year.

“I am hopeful and optimistic that God will crown the effort of the team with a win to be in a vantage position after the game on Saturday.”
