Confederation of Africa Football Federation, CAF, has revealed the agenda that will form the discussions as the 46th Ordinary General Assembly is set to take place today, Tuesday, 22 October 2024, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Sports247 reports
The Assembly is a cross fertilization of ideas as leaders and delegates of Member Associations from across Africa come together to review the events of last football season, project, and postulate on the growth and development of the game on the continent for the new season and beyond.
According to a release by CAF Media, the agenda for Tuesday’s assembly includes the Activity Report for 2023-24 as well as the Financial Report and the Budget for 2024-25.
It will also cover important discussions about the future of football on the continent, focusing on topics such as competition development, governance, and strategic partnerships.
CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe and CAF Secretary General Veron Mosengo-Omba will lead the discussions as the event kicks off at 10:00 local time (07:00 GMT) at the Ethiopian Skylight Hotel.
This year’s gathering is a key occasion for African football, with delegates from CAF Member Associations, zonal unions, and global football figures in attendance.
Dr. Motsepe is expected to highlight CAF’s achievements over the past year and outline new initiatives to promote growth and investment in African football.
Following the assembly, Dr. Motsepe will address the media at a scheduled press conference at 13:00 local time (10:00 GMT).
Over the past few days, Addis Ababa has been buzzing with activity as a series of pre-congress meetings were held, including sessions for zonal unions and the CAF Executive Committee.
The assembly marks the second time Ethiopia has hosted the CAF Congress, having previously welcomed delegates in 2017.
