Enyimba of Aba goalkeeper, Theophilus Afelokhai has admitted he is yet to recover from his side’s ouster in the CAF Confederation Cup, as he says costly errors caused their loss to Raja Casablanca of Morocco.
After losing the first leg 1-0 at home in Aba, The Peoples Elephant again fell 2-1 away in Casablanca, but Afelokhai told sports247.ng it would have been a different story all together.
The former Kano Pillars shot-stopper is of a view that Enyimba would have been able to hold their own had them be a little more cautious at the back, but admits it was because they felt they could hold their own against the opponents from Morocco.
Afelokhai admitted that Enyimba did not get their bearings right and lost their chance of getting a good result in Wednesday’s return leg against Raja Casablanca.
He added in a chat with Sports247.ng on Friday: “We gave our best, but it was not enough. Little, little mistakes just did not help us.
“All the same, that is now in the past, we are all looking forward and we are moving ahead. Personally, I have now shifted my attention to the start of the new NPFL season.”
