Former Barcelona player and Super Eagles international, Gbenga Okunnowo, shared his insights on the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament, expressing optimism about the Super Eagles’ chances and highlighting the potential positive impact on Nigerian players’ reputation in Europe.

“If this team can make it in this nation’s cup, there is going to be a lot of ways opening for Nigeria in Europe,” Okunnowo stated.
“It came. They are improving. Everybody is putting his effort into the games now. I can see the way the players are pushing themselves.”
“Even the people on the bench, I can see on their faces. They want to play, but we cannot put more than 11. So the chances are coming back, and we need the luck and the passes are coming back now.”
