Victor Osimhen was the centre of attraction in game as Nigeria’s Super Eagles ran riot against São Tomé and Príncipe in their second Group A match of the 2023 AFCON Qualifiers, hammering their opponents with ten unreplied goals on Monday evening.
Osimhen found the back of net four times, Terem Moffi got brace while the likes of Moses Simon, Oghenekaro Etebo, Ademola Lookman and Emmanuel Dennis each score one goal to hand Nigeria an emphatic 0-10 victory at the Adrar Stadium in Agadir, Morocco to record their largest win margin in history.
According to Opta Nigeria, Osimhen becomes the second player to score four goals for Nigeria in a match after Rashidi Yekini set the record with his four goals in Nigeria’s 7-1 win over Burkina Faso 1991.
The 23-year-old forward would be seeking to increase his goal tally for Nigeria when the qualifiers resume again in September with Super Eagles double header fixtures against Guinea Bissau.
