Troost Ekong and Kenneth Omeruo believe Nigeria must cope with the Sudan intensity and quality but insist they must beat them in other to claim the whole three-point and also stay ahead of the group D table.
The Netherlands born mixed Dutch and Nigeria player and Watford center back player said;
” Our preparation against Sudan has been good, we’re going to adjust from the previous game we played against Egypt. We have put that behind us quickly and we have been training very well because this game is going to be pretty more important than our opening game. So I feel we have worked very hard and we will be ready for the game”.
In a similar manner, Kenneth Omeruo who is also super eagles defender who plays for Leganes in the Segunda division confirms that;
” It was easy for me and Ekong to play together against Egypt. He is someone I have played with a couple of times, we have been together and we have trained together so it wasn’t difficult for us to understand ourselves in our previous game. It was important to have a coverage together” He added with a smile.
” My expectations against Sudan is a fairy, we have trained hard and the good thing about tournament football is that you have many games shoulder for each other but the ideas will always do from the previous game. So we will always focus on that as we look forward to the game”. He concluded.
Victory will not only assure the Eagles of a place in the Round of 16 but also brings closer the possibility of topping the group and therefore retaining the familiar surroundings of Garoua as a venue.
