Super Eagles winger, Moses Simon has dedicated his TotalEnergies Man of the Match award to his teammates and says Sudan were a tougher opposition than Egypt.
Simon followed up his spectacular display against Egypt in Nigeria’s 2021 Nations Cup opener, with another splendid performance against Sudan to help Nigeria to a convincing win that secured their place in the knock-out stages of the tournament.
The Nantes star provided the assist for Nigeria’s first goal and completed the scoring in a 3-1 win for Austine Eguavoen’s side.
“We worked as a team. We work very hard for this win. The Man of the Match award goes to the team. Of course, we know that there are no easy games in the AFCON. Sudan were more difficult than the Egyptians. We expected this and we’ll learn from them.”
Nigeria will close out the group stages with a game against Guinea-Bissau next Wednesday.
