As the Super Eagles prepare to battle South Africa in the reverse fixture of their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Saturday, a former minister of sports, Engineer Bala Bawa Ka’oje has charge the Nigerian players to go all out for victory.
Ka’oje said in an exclusive interview with sports247.ng that the Eagles must not take Bafana Bafana lightly, in order to pick an early ticket to the 2019 AFCON in Cameroon.
While expressing worries over the Eagles’ goalkeeping department, the former minister said the Eagles’ crew must give the game all seriousness it deserves, considering that South Africa also want to qualify.
Ka’oje stressed: “This game must be taken very seriously, because of the defeat Nigeria suffered against these same South Africans in the first leg, when they beat us 2-0 in Uyo.
“I am a little concerned about our goalkeeper, due to the absence of Francis Uzoho, because of injury while playing for his club.
“In any case, I am also hoping that those that are in the Super Eagles’ camp, both the players and coaches, know what to do to win this match.”
