“Adversity breeds growth, and this is just the beginning of a brighter future for our boys,” remarked the management of Emmydinho FC after a challenging encounter against the CHAN Eagles yesterday at the Remo Stars Township Stadium, Ikenne, Ogun State.
On December 11, 2024, the Emmydinho FC boys faced a surprise test match against the home-based Super Eagles, a game designed to assess their resilience and skill at a higher level of competition. The CHAN Eagles wasted no time demonstrating their class, scoring four goals in the first half and adding another in the second to secure a commanding 5-0 victory.
Despite the lopsided scoreline, the Emmydinho FC players showed determination, creating chances in the second half but failing to convert. Players later expressed concerns about late mental preparation, which may have impacted their performance.
The club’s management acknowledged this setback as a valuable learning experience. “Our duty is to provide these opportunities, and we will continue to do so. However, we will work on repairing the boys mentally to ensure better readiness next time,” they stated.
Emmydinho FC extended special thanks to the coaching crew, led by Austin Augustine Eguavoen, alongside Rangers head coach Fidelis Ilechukwu and Remo Stars’ Daniel Ongumodede, for facilitating this opportunity.
The management remains optimistic, viewing this match as a stepping stone toward growth and development for the team. “We are committed to building a resilient and confident squad ready for future challenges,” they affirmed.
