The Adoption Campaign, which is an initiative of the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare, on Thursday got President Muhammadu Buhari’s endorsement.
Flagging off the movement of the Torch of National Unity for the National Sports Festival, Edo 2020 at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the President, while reiterating his administration’s commitment to providing an enabling environment for sports to thrive at all levels, urged all well meaning Nigerian to key into the Adoption Campaign so as to be part of rewriting sports history in Nigeria.
The President who maintained that the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development is the biggest constituency for keeping the Nigerian Youth busy, commended the Minister for the programs so far introduced in line with that mandate.
The Adoption Campaign is an initiative which involves raising direct funds upport Nigerian athletes who will be representing Nigeria in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and getting the commitments to renovate football pitches and other sporting facilities around the country, from private individuals and entities in order to augment government’s efforts.
