The Chairperson of Madiba football club Alhaja Basirat Adeyemi revealed recently in Lagos to the media one of the positives that has spurred her on in football administration.
“When I decided to delve into men football as an ex footballer , I didn’t know I would receive such pleasant reception from my players as a woman”
She further explained that she made it imperative that her young stars understood that she is open to a motherly / sisterly relationship with them.
” They have never abused such privileges . I visit them in camp often, and most importantly strive to make them happy”
Madiba FC is more than a football club , it is a family.
It is on record that the club rewarded the club highest goal scorer Sunday Fadeyi who incidentally toped the NLO with 12 Goals and other exceptional players with a trip to Russia during the 2018 world cup in Russia.
“I wanted my boys to have a first hand view of the world cup , the feeling of playing in a world cup.
When you feel it first hand, it helps your dream and pushes you more to strive to be a star” she concluded.
Madiba FC is a Lagos based club that played in the Nationwide league division one for the past two seasons and hopes to provide an enabling platform for the players to play abroad.
Alhaja Adeyemi also organises a very credible scouting tournament every year in Lagos.
