Mountain of Fire & Miracles Ministry (MFM) of Lagos female basketball team coach, Adewunmi Aderemi is relishing his side’s maiden outing in the national league.
Although his side could not get among the top three at the end of proceedings this week, sports247.ng can report that the man fondly called ‘Owoolo’ is standing tall.
While also praising the sponsors for their role in ensuring the Nigerian Women Basketball Premier League eventually held against all odds, Aderemi said it was a good learning point for his lasses.
The veteran slam-dunk coach, who has handled several levels of Nigeria’s national teams, said the sponsors have done well in the process of engaging the country’s youths.
Aderemi noted that is was remarkable to see the competition go ahead, despite crisis in Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), and enthused that it was a good step forward for the youthful MFM team.
“Many people believed the competition would not take place but somehow, we were able to have it.
“I am happy that the tournament was a good eye opener for my youthful team,” Aderemi submitted.
