Adetona Adeyemi delivered a standout individual performance to lead Ijele SC to a hard-fought 3-2 victory over struggling 1472 FC on Friday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.

The Southern Conference A Matchday 8 clash saw the Enugu-based side take an early lead, with Adeyemi scoring a stunning volley just two minutes into the game. He doubled the advantage in the 14th minute with a powerful strike from outside the box, beating goalkeeper Adams.
Ijele SC extended their dominance when forward Haddi capitalized on a close-range opportunity to make it 3-0 in the 16th minute.
Despite falling behind early, 1472 FC responded with two quick goals, showing glimpses of a comeback. However, their efforts were not enough to salvage a point at home.
This marks Ijele SC’s first back-to-back wins of the season, propelling them into the top six of the Southern Conference A standings.
