Adesoji Tayo Elected NTTF President, Promises Youth Revolution

Newly elected President of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF), Adesoji Tayo, has pledged to focus on youth development, talent discovery, and improving coaching standards across the country.

Tayo, who also chairs the Oyo State Table Tennis Association, was unanimously elected after his rival, Ahmed Khamisu, withdrew and was later named Vice President. He succeeds Engineer Ishaku Tikon, who served for eight years.

In his acceptance speech, Tayo said his administration will prioritize nurturing young talents who can represent Nigeria at global events. “We will revive school competitions and create regional training hubs. The future of our sport depends on the next generation,” he said.

He also promised to improve the welfare and technical capacity of coaches. “Quality coaching produces quality players. We will invest in training programs and exchange opportunities,” he added.

Stakeholders hailed the smooth transition and Tayo’s vision for inclusivity and professionalism. “Table tennis in Nigeria is about to experience a renaissance,” said one delegate.

With his bold plans and youthful energy, Tayo’s leadership could mark the beginning of a new chapter for Nigerian table tennis.
