Former Super Eagles midfielder, Mutiu Adepoju (Headmaster) is of a view that the Nigerian team will do well at next year’s Africa Cup of Nations because of the improved form they have exhibited in recent time.
Adepoju went on to declare in a chat with sports247.ng that Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the last two editions of the soccer showpiece will not affect the performance of the Eagles next year.
Adepoju said the past failures will not affect the current squad, once they stay focused and prepare well.
He added: “I believe that the Super Eagles will do well at next year’s Cup of Nations because the players look solid on current form.
“It’s true that we did not qualify for the last two editions of the competition, but that is in the past, we are now talking about 2019.
“Current form and ability to maintain their level of fitness will be the determining factors that may affect the team’s performance.”
