Ademola Lookman is on the verge of completing a transfer to Serie A side Atalanta from RB Leipzig on a permanent basis, Sports247 reports. The move to Bergamo will signal an end to his three-year association with Leipzig.
Lookman spent last season on loan with Leicester City, where he scored eight goals and provided five assists in 41 appearances across all competitions. The Premier League club had the option of making the transfer permanent, but they decided not to do so.
According to Italian transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, the winger is one step away from joining Atalanta on a permanent basis with personal terms already agreed between both club and player.
“Atalanta are now set to sign Ademola Lookman from RB Leipzig. Talks are at the final stage, and personal terms agreed upon. Deal imminent for former Leicester winger,” Romano said.
Lookman, 24, joined RB Leipzig permanently in July 2019 from Everton after a brief loan spell with the Bundesliga club in 2018. Before joining Leicester last season, he was on loan at Fulham for the 2020/21 campaign. He is currently valued at €10.00m by transfermarket.com.
