Ademola Lookman wasted no time in making an impact on the field for Atalanta, scoring on his debut in a 2-0 Serie A win at Sampdoria on Saturday.
The €15 million summer signing from RB Leipzig started the game as a substitute.
Defender Rafael Toloi opened the scoring for Atalanta with a simple finish in the 26th. He was assisted by Mario Pasalic. The visitors went into the break with the 1-0 lead.
Lookman was brought on for Luis Muriel in the 63rd minute. He slotted home in stoppage time, converting a pass from Ruslan Malinovskyi inside the box.
The Nigerian international faked a shot to get past a Sampdoria defender, before positioning himself for a beautiful left-footed strike.
Atalanta will host defending champions AC Milan in their second league match of the season. The game is scheduled for next Sunday, August 21st.
