The Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth and Sports and founder of Adelabu FC, Aremo Adegboyega Adelabu has said that the rationale behind the founding of Adelabu FC is to give springboard to talented footballers in Osun State.
He made this known to newsmen at the inaugural match played by Adelabu FC to mark his birthday at the Osogbo City Stadium.
Adelabu, who was elated with the performance of his team after defeating their opponent HMK by two goals to nil(2-0) said despite that the team was formed less than two months ago, the boys played wonderful football.
“I must confess to you that the boys gave me a befitting birthday present with their great performance. The technical department led by Tunde Adebiyi (Mourinho) has exceeded my expectations with the way they groomed the boys.”
“Founding a team is borne out my love for our young talented footballers. When we were growing up, we never had opportunities like this. Who knows what I would have become if such opportunity presented itself in our youthful days.”
“Adelabu FC is just a share way of giving our Youths a good platform of becoming the next Ademola Adeshina, Mutiu Adepoju, Austin Okocha, and other great footballers Nigeria has ever produced.” Said Adelabu.
Aremo Adelabu also took substantial time out to thank the Governor of the State, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola who he described as the brain behind all his achievements.
“It is imperative that I thank my principal, the Governor of the State, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola for the precious opportunity he has given to me. Anything I do the right way is the handwork of the Governor. He has been the one behind all my achievements. I say thank you, Sir.” Concluded Aremo Adelabu.
In their separate remarks, Alhaji Kazeem Yusuf and Dr. Laniyan Ademola took time out to laud Aremo Adegboyega Adelabu for creating a platform for youths to showcase their talents in sports and also urged him to continue his good ways.
