Kwara United Taylor Adebayo has expressed his delight after he became the first player to bag a brace in the ongoing Ogunjobi Gold Cup Tourney in Ilorin.
The Harmony Boys striker said: “It’s a good feeling when you score in a game, but a brace and a second that sealed the 3points is one you won’t forget in a hurry.
“Today’s game was a balanced one and an improvement from the previous where we shared the spoils with our derby rivals, Niger Tornadoes.
“Kudos to my teammates for putting up a hundred per cent into the game against FC Yobo, it shows we’re beginning to blend as a unit.
“Our coaches to get the credit for the victory as their pep talk after the game against Tornadoes and before Yobo’s game spurred us on.”
Speaking further, “The pre-season tourney is a good platform for Kwara United to prepare well for the new Nigeria National League (NNL) season. With the right ingredients, motivation and support from our fans, am sure we’ll get promoted to the Premier League.”
Adebayo scored in both halves after he opened scoring for the Harmony Boys in the 33rd minute as he took advantage of a schoolboy defending from FC Yobo’s Obinze to shoot the ball to the top right corner.
He then made it 2-0 in the 53rd minutes scoring a brilliant goal from a one-two pass from a teammate.
