Adamawa State Govt names Rtd DCP Hasso Volleyball Chairman

Former Chairman of Nigeria Police Force Volleyball Association, Rtd DCP Stephen Hasso has been appointed the Chairman of Adamawa State Volleyball Association.

In a statement signed by the Chief Administrator, Alhaji Sani Musa on behalf of the Acting Executive Director of Sports said Rtd DCP Stephen Hasso appointment is based on his contribution to volleyball in the state and country.

The statement read Rtd DCP Hasso’s influence in the country will bring a turn around in the fortunes of Adamawa volleyball.

It read, “I have been directed to write and convey the approval of the Adamawa State Sports Council for appointment as the chairman of Adamawa State Volleyball Association.

“Your appointment which takes immediate effect is informed by your interest and past contribution towards the development of the game in the state and the country in general”.

Reacting to the appointment, Rtd DCP Stephen Hasso promised to bring his wealth of experience into the volleyball association.

He said plans are ongoing to return Adamawa to it’s rightful position in the committee of volleyball teams as well as mixing young players with the already existing established players.

Rtd DCP Hasso said, “I feel challenged, delighted and honoured about this appointment given to me. It is something I have been anticipating to continue with my past experience as the former Chairman of Nigeria Police Volleyball Association.

“I want to thank the Director of Sports for considering me a worthy candidate to handle this office by recommending to the Hon Ministry of sport”.

He further said, “I want to put Adamawa Volleyball Teams to the top most positions where the belong to in the past days and I strongly believe it is a matter of time. I have my blue prints and plans for that.

“We shall improve on what is on the ground to excel up, we have young players that we shall bring up from the grass root mixed them with our talented existing players.

“Adamawa is gifted with tall men and female players and by the grace of God, we are going to be the home of Volleyball in no time by his grace”.

“I am appealing to stakeholders to put our heads together support our amiable President and his federation members to move the game forward. Since the inception of this Board he has done well and see no reason to support them moving the game to greatest heights”, he added.
