The much-anticipated finals of the Adaamasunle Foundation Football Competition would hold on 3 and 4, September 2022 at the Aboru pipeline football pitch, Iyana-Ipaja, Alimosho, Lagos.
In the final pairing released by the organizers, Fantastic Academy face Fathyfu2 in the U-10 category while Fortune academy battles Fantastic academy in the U-15 category. All the two matches would hold on 3, September.
In the female category final, Flourish Queens confront FSSA Queens as Smart Strikers take on Frackson FC. The two matches would play on 4, September at the same venue.
Chairman organizing committee, Muri Olaleye has expressed satisfaction that the Adaamasunle foundation football competition had lived up to expectations in the area of standard of play by the teams, officiating, and organization of the tournament.
He explained that all the teams gave a good account of themselves but noted that the finalists were better in the tournament.
“We give Glory to Almighty Allah for the success of the competition. It has not been easy for the committee but against all odds, we overcame the challenges. What I can say is that the competition had lived up to expectations and I wish all the finalists all the best in their outings,” he said.
In his own comment, cup donor, Adeola Olaleye said Adaamasunle Foundation has committed to youth and sports development in the last nine years and promised that the competition would be organized annually.
“This year’s edition would make it nine editions and we are not tired of doing it. Adaamasunle Foundation was set up to assist youths and promote sports development. We have so many programs under the foundation but one of them is to sponsor a grassroots football competition that has come to stay in Alimosho.I am looking forward to the exciting finals and wish all the finalists all the best,” he said.
