The president of Island All Stars Sports Club, Ikenna Maduagu has promised more bolts of excitement every weekend at this year’s edition of their glamorous competition among ex-footballers.
Speaking against smother round of top matches and a rain of goals in week two of the annual leisure time competition, which is officially known as IASC/Providus Bank Championship, Maduagu said the organisers have gone another notch higher.
He exhaled in a chat with sports247.ng that it has been another amazing contest so far and added, “I am sure people are wondering how we are doing it. It’s just the grace of God.
“The grace of God is sufficient upon us, and it is backed by the cooperation of the majority of members we have at Island All Stars Sports Club.
“When we do those things, it looks like nothing difficult, but the truth is that there is hardly anywhere in this country where you see them organise an annual competition of this magnitude year in, year out.”
The IASC boss then spoke about the giant strides he and other members of the club have taken over the years, and concluded with a verdict that they will keep getting better with each passing day, even during the ongoing competition.
“So far, so good. Every year, we move a notch higher.
“You will agree with me that, this year, we have again moved a notch higher, and that is how it will continue growing until the end of this competition on the 14th of December,” Maduagu projected.
He further enthused that new ideas and better excitement will continue to unfold each weekend at the match venues.
