ACHIEVERS CUP 2024: Kendoritz Will Play Much Better Next Time, Emeka Madukwe Blows Hot

More shocks and thrills appear to be in store from Team Kendoritz at this year’s edition of Achievers Cup, a leisure competition for former footballers organised by Island All-Stars Sports Club (IASC), sports247.ng has gathered.

This past Saturday, Kendoritz pulled off a surprise 1-1 draw with the ongoing competition’s top placed side, Team Prossy, and the scorer of their only goal in that game, Emeka Madukwe said they have more to offer.

The lanky attacker fondly called ‘Haaland’ told sports247.ng after his dramatic feat that he and his colleagues will use the coming weekend’s break to restrategise and romp back better when play resumes in a forthnight.

Madukwe stated with a relish, “We are so excited that the match ended in a draw, but we believe we are coming back better.

“We are going to do well against the next team that we will play against.
“We thank God that this game ended 1-1, but I promise that it will be better next time. It’s not going to be like this.”

He also revealed secrets of the strategy that helped Kendoritz pull off the surprise draw in what was their last match of the competition’s first stage in six round robin games.

“What we did differently today is that we ensured that our midfield was balanced and I was able to secure some chances to score goals.

“We were more determined, and that’s why I know we are all going to put in more effort during our next game,” Madukwe disclosed.

He concluded with a verdict that, though still placed third on the table with only two points, while Prossy have seven and Team Gold stand in second with six, Kendoritz should not be written off.

“I believe that the competition is still fresh. It’s just for us to work more on our team. I believe, by the next game, we are going to win.

“We are going to be victorious and get more points to go up on the league table. I believe that, for our next game,” Madukwe stressed.

The all stars’ version of ‘Haaland’ will now aim to notch more goals when action resumes on November 23 in the competition that is officially known as IASC/Providus Bank Football Championship.
