ACHIEVERS CUP 2024: David Oyido Serves Huge Boast, Says Team Prossy Will Not Lose Any Match

Team Prossy kept their place on top of the table in the ongoing Achievers Cup 2024 with another victory on Saturday, after which one of their star players, David Oyido boasted that they will not lose any game throughout the competition.

Sports247.ng reports that Saturday’s victory at the restart of the competition being contested by ex-internationals and former players saw Team Prossy stay top with ten points, one ahead of second placed Team Gold, who also won their fixture earlier on.

It means a photo finish is in the offing between both teams to determine who clinches the competition being organised by Island All-Stars Sports Club (IASC) and sponsored by Providus Bank.

While taking a closer look at the unfolding scenario, Oyido admitted that the race is tight, but affirmed that his side will emerge champions on December 7, because he believes they will win their remaining two matches.

The outspoken veteran, who is fondly called ‘Davido’ by his associates, thanked God for Saturday’s victory, while also hailing the efforts of his teammates and their coach.

Oyido stated, “We give God the glory for making us come out victorious again. We thank God for everything.

“Although most of the club members wanted us to lose this game, the grace of God helped us not to be defeated.
“We thank God for everything. I also thank my coach, and I thank all my players for gingering us to victory.”

Although he alleged that a gang-up was brewing among IASC officials to upstage his team, ‘Davido’ insisted that Prossy will carry the trophy eventually, because of sheer determination on the part of all their players.

“In fact, we won’t lose any game in this competition, I promise.

“I am sure that, from the next game, we will still come out victorious, and we’ll also win the last match of the fixtures,” he stressed.

Should the declaration of ‘Davido’ come to pass, it would mean a run of five victories out of six matches for his team, having already won two and drawn one in the first round.

All teams in the competition now have two matches left to play each, across the coming weekend and the next, with the star game set to be a decisive cracker between Team Prossy and second placed Team Gold, who are now on nine points.
