ACADUC 2022: Golden boys, KG Sports To Lock Horns As Winners Face Green Rangers In Local Derby

The 2022 ACADUC Tournament enters its knockout phase beginning on 19 September with the Quarter Finals with the final at the Agbor Township stadium set for Sunday September 25th, to decide the champions of the Inaugural Agbor Coaches and Directors’Unity Cup.

Rainbows FC who finished top of Group A with 7 points after 2 wins and 1 draw will face Group B runners up Ihuyase FC. The Alihame based Ihuyase had to come from 2-0 down to win Soccerstars 3-2 to book the quarter finals ticket in a pulsating encounter. Coach Timothy Ujah’s wards will have to be at their best when they face the tournament’s top scorer Lorenzo on Monday at the Agbor Township stadium. Kick off is at 2pm.

The 4pm Match at the same venue will involve a local derby of two Agbor Obi based side. Winners FC, topped group B with 4 points will welcome local rivals Green Rangers who finished with 6 points in Group A. Green Rangers have proved to be the dark horse following their surprise wins over Palace FC and Emelem in the group Stage. Coach Walter led Onwudinjor boys will be beaming with confidence as they take on Winners as both sides know each other very well. It could be anybody’s game.

On Tuesday 20th September, Ultimate FC will faceoff with Star Peak at the 2pm Kick Off. The George Uzioma Sponsored Ultimate Academy emerged Top in Group D on Fair Play rules haven equal points and goals with KG Sports Academy. Star Peak had to leave it late with a 1-0 win over Delta Milan to qualify for the Knockout phase from Group C.

The battle between Golden Boys and KG Sports Academy will bring back old rivalry. The last time both teams played ended in a stalemate in the Ika Youth League 2020. Coach Onyeka Alika led Golden Boys are the only team with the 100% record from the group stage haven won all three matches and finishing with 9 points. KG Sports Academy remain unbeaten in the Tournament under New Coach Adeyinka Ogundeji and will be looking to maintain their unbeaten run.
