FC Midtjylland star Raphael Onyedika has emerged at the top of AC Milan’s wish list and negotiations are currently ongoing, reports Sports247.
Milan view Onyedika as a replacement for Franck Kessie who joined Barcelona last month. They have already made an offer of €4m for the player. Midtjylland rejected it and is demanding nearly double the amount.
According to reports monitored by Sports247, the Italian champions are not giving up on their primary midfield target and are intending to use bonus clauses to reach an agreement with Midtjylland. They are expected to make an improved offer in the coming days.
Onyedika joined Midtjylland from affiliate club FC Ebedei in 2019. He impressed with the club’s youth teams and was loaned out to Danish second-tier club FC Fredericia for the 2020-21 season.
He returned to Midtjylland for the 2021-22 season and established himself as a mainstay in the club’s starting eleven. The youngster made 48 in all competitions, chipping in with 4 goals and 3 assists from his defensive midfield role. He also received the Danish Superliga Young Player of the Season award.
Onyedika has already made 8 appearances for Mydtjylland this new campaign. The 21-year-old is under contract at the MCH Arena until June 2026. He is uncapped at the international level with Nigeria.
