The opening ceremony showcased the richness of African culture, featuring mesmerizing performances of music, dance, and art that captivated attendees.

This marks the return of the prestigious tournament to Nigeria after nearly three decades, with the country last hosting it in 1996.

However, it is the first time Abuja is serving as the host city. Sixteen teams will compete from April 1st to April 14th at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium.

A strong advocate for women’s empowerment and sports development, Sen. Tinubu was accompanied by CAVB President Bouchra Hajij, Nigeria Customs Service Controller General Bahir Wale, National Sports Commission Chairman Shehu Dikko, and Director General Bukola Olopade.

Welcoming participants and visitors, the First Lady encouraged them to explore Nigeria, emphasizing the nation’s commitment to sports as a tool for human development and economic growth.
