ABSU, Beach Volleyball Commission Presidents Pays NSC Boss Visits

President of Africa Beach Soccer Union Mahmud Hadejia and CAVB President on Beach Volleyball Commission Engr Musa Nimrod paid a courtesy visits to the newly appointed Chairman of the National Sports Commission Mallam Shehu Dikko at his residence to felicitate with him on his new position and wish him all the best.

In a short reception, ABSU President Mahmud Hadejia eulogized the Mallam Shehu Dikko as the right man for the job due to his tracks record in the sporting circles for the past 25 years.

“We are here to rejoice with you on your appointment as Chairman of the National Sports Commission from ABSU, this didn`t come to us as a surprise at all because your tracks records speaks for you and the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu finding you worthy is a marvelous decision that would transform and reshape our sporting system to a greater glory”.

“We have not relented on what you know us to be doing which is the game of Beach Soccer, which we have done for several years including the Nigeria Beach Soccer League. We have made development of the game as the basic thing with training of Coaches and Referees on the latest rules of the game and even taking the game to the Eastern region this year in Nnewi,Anambra state hosting one of the round with Anambra Beach Soccer club and Jigawa Beach Soccer club participated in the league for the very first time which implies that Beach Soccer can be played in every part of the country because we have the sand in each state so it`s just for the people to see the game and key into with the necessary facilities and the game is good to go” Mahmud Hadejia concluded.

Adding to what the ABSU President has said, Newly Confederation of Africa Volleyball Beach Volley Commission President Engr Musa Nimrod also maintained that both Beach Soccer and Beach Volleyball are on the same terrain and that it will be a thing of joy for Nigerians to see it as something we can grow very fast even ahead of the African Beach Games next year.

“I also join my voice to first say congratulations to you Chairman Sir and like everyone has been talking about this laudable appointment of you as the Chairman of National Sports Commission by the President of our dear nation, we are happy and know that with your years of experience in sports administration, there will be total revamp in the sporting sector”.

“Myself as a President of a Nigeria Volleyball Federation know that the government can`t solely fund sports enough and this where the private sectors come in which I know that with your clouts and knowledge of that sector, you will help to close the gap”. Musa Nimrod concluded.

Reacting to all that have been said, Mallam Shehu Dikko thanked the ABSU and Beach Volleyball Commission President for coming on this visits and also asked about if the game of Beach Soccer is part of the National Sports Festival.

“Let me say thank you so much for taking out time to show solidarity to me on this appointment as Chairman National Sports Commission, like you know that I operate an open door policy that will enable us to achieve our desired goals”.

“let me also congratulate you Engr. Musa Nimrod foir your recent appointment at the Confederation of Africa Volleyball where you are appointed as the President of Beach Volleyball Commission, it shows that you have been doing so well and the CAVB have recognized your contribution to the game of Beach Volleyball. I wish you all the very best in that office”.

“I will be meeting with the Main Organizing Committee of the upcoming National Sports Festival soon and I will see if we can have the Beach Soccer to be shown as a demonstration for this one then we include it for future ones because we can`t be playing it a CAF and FIFA tournaments and we can`t have it in our sports festival which will serves as a way to discover more talents for the game” Dikko concluded

The visit ended with presentation of souvenirs from ABSU family to the chairman National Sports Commission.
