Cup holders, Abraysports will be up against in NPFL All Stars in the final of 2024 AMAPRO Football Championship.
Abraysports boys saw off Dickalo FA in the first semifinal that was decided at the Kwara Football Academy, KFA on Saturday winning 7-6 on penalties.
The entire duration of the encounter ended goaless with both teams failed to make good use of their numerous scoring chances.
Dickalo’s goalkeeper, Ozovehe Adeiza who was the star of the quarterfinal with three saves from the shootouts was unable to stop any for his side.
However, it was Abraysports’ Akinniyi Toheeb who guessed right to Dickalo’s seventh kick before Olatunji Sunbomi scored the final spot kick for Abraysports securing their place in the final for the second time in a row.
The second semifinal saw NPFL All Stars confirming their supremacy over their NNL counterpart with 5-1 comeback victory.
NNL boys took the lead in the 18th minute of the match when a good pass from Sufian Bello met Ahmed Hameed, who put the ball past onrushing Kazeem Yekini.
NPFL All Stars even the score line two minutes later as Godwin Oshagbemi intercepted and tucked home a free kick from Ebuka Anaekwe.
Oshagbemi gave the NPFL Stars the lead with perfect finish in the 30th minutes before Ibrahim Hammed redirected a ball to his own net to extend NPFL lead before half time.
Oshagbemi got his hat trick few minutes into restart with thunderous shot that caught Saka Ajanaku napping.
Ebuka Anaekwe would get his goal with few minutes to see out the match as he danced through legs before slotting home from edge of the box.
The final match slated for 3pm on Sunday will see NPFL All Stars who won the championship in 2019 against the defending champions Abraysports FC.
