AbraySport secures first official win following a 2-1 win over BFA at the Kay Cup Football tournament.
The game started on a tough note for the boys after Ibrahim Muhammed put the opponent ahead in the fourteenth minute.
While Ogungbenro Mustapha equalizes for the boys as the opening half ended in a 1-1 draw.
The boys started the second period with a lot of intensity compared to the opening half and that made the game much more physical.
AbraySport had the first chance of the second half after Kazeem Bello’s free-kick inside the box was missed by some margin.
Ogungbenro had the other chance of the game as he tries to bend the ball and find the bottom corner but his shot went wide.
The boys finally got the needed goal through a spot-kick from Owoade Segun in the 70th minute of the game.
After the goal, BFA did everything to drew level including getting a goal in the last minute which was ruled out by the referee.
The boys held on to a very important victory in the tournament and the club’s history.
Coach Gbolade Ezekiel praised the performance of the players and revealed that they played to instruction against a team that have defeated them in a friendly game.
“The team is strong and they have defeated us before during our screening period.”
“We told the boys to go for the victory because this is a tournament and it was important for us to start with a win.”
