Nigeria Boxing Board of Control (NBB of C) secretary, Remi Aboderin is counting the gains for the pugilists’ sport in the outgoing year and concluded that is has been rosy.
Aboderin stated in an interview with sports247.ng that 2018 has seen the rapid growth and development of professional boxing in Nigeria.
He said the year’s events have not come to an end, though, as the NBB of C is still set to sanction three different boxing promotions by December.
Aboderin also pointed out that Nigerian boxers engagements in quality international fights in the year has outweighed past recent records.
‘We are happy with how 2018 has turned out to be, and there is still more to come before we say Happy New Year.
“In fact, having more fights coming in December alone is a clear sign of the rapid development for pro-boxing in Nigeria,” Aboderin enthused.
