The visitor highlighted various areas for possible collaboration with the State Government including Teqball development, Teqball Tables distribution, Youth football development, and the Establishment of Gym/Fitness parks amongst others to enhance youth development and sports promotion in the State.
Mr. Edede seized the opportunity to congratulate the Honourable Commissioner on his appointment.
In his words “I am happy for your appointment which I believe is a round peg in a round hole hence my coming to identify with you.
People had expected me over the years to support sports development in my State following my contacts globally and wealth of experience in managing sporting projects at the National and International level, so my coming is timely because one needs to work with the right team to be able to get results.
For me, economic and sports development in Abia State is paramount as the State has suffered negligence for years in this area.
It is because I have confidence in the leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti that informed my recommendation of the Abia State Government to the former Ambassador of Hungary to Nigeria, Dr Sandor Beer for partnership and I ensured the delivery of the letters to the State Government which necessitated the Governors visit the Embassy of Hungary in Abuja in person in July 2023.
I am sincerely happy that the Embassy economic team of Dr Gabor Krauss and Judit Beres are professionally managing the project, that way I can concentrate on my area of specialization which is sports and cultural projects, so you can see that I am fulfilled having contributed my quota toward State development. I am still available to help further when the need arises, Ndudi Edede said.”
The Nigeria Teqball Federation scribe who arguably set up the current structure of Teqball in Nigeria which has spread to 30 States of Nigeria and FCT also commended His Excellency, Dr. Alex Otti. “I so much believe in this gentleman who is seen as a technocrat and not a politician based on his track record.
We are expecting so much from him due to systematic failure all these years. I am confident he will deliver on his promises. He already hit the ground running in infrastructure development which I saw in some parts of Aba.
His efforts in the reorganization of the State civil services are quite commendable. I also hail his appointment of experienced professionals in his cabinet and as chairmen of Enyimba FC, Abia Warriors FC, and Abia Comets FC.
It is actually the right way to go. But my advice to the appointed chairmen is to institutionalize the clubs to be profit-oriented and self-sufficient because football these days is a big business and must be approached with such a mentality.
It is good to win trophies and also good to make money from the business”
In the response of the obviously elated Honourable Commissioner, Mr. Nwobilor Ananaba “Thank you very much for coming. We sincerely apologize for the waiting time.
I have heard so much about you now. Your exploit in teqball development in Nigeria, your partnership with the Hungarian Embassy for years as the Project Director of the annual Dreamland-Embassy of Hungary Cup.
Honestly, I am ready to partner with you on a long-term basis for result-oriented sports development initiatives in Abia State.
It is people like you we are looking for. Your experience and profile are evident. Sincerely this visit is worth it. We will be waiting for the proposals accordingly”
In the company of Mr. Ndudi Edede for the courtesy call are Sir. Isaac O Isaac, Director of Sports, Abia State; Mr. Frank Chinagorom, Chairman, Abia State Teqball Association and Mr. Michael Ogbonna, Executive Board Member, Abia State Teqball Association
