In anticipation of the upcoming football season, Abia Comets Football Club of Umuahia is gearing up for a friendly match against Jewels Football Academy, scheduled for this Friday.
Coach Kevin Ejeh, affectionately known as “Mourinho,” sees this friendly game as an opportunity to assess new players in preparation for the commencement of the 2023/24 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
With the new season slated to kick off on October 28, 2023, Abia Comets will begin their campaign with an away game against Ekiti United.
Coach Mourinho and the entire technical team have been diligently working to ensure the team is well-prepared for the rigorous challenges of the NNL season. We recently completed our second training session, with a focus on getting ready for the friendly match against Jewels Football Academy.
According to Coach Mourinho, the purpose of this friendly fixture is twofold: to provide new players with an opportunity to integrate into the squad and to ensure that the team is in optimal condition for the upcoming season.
