The Umuahia based club came into the game on the back of its home win last Saturday, in a Matchday 17 clash in Umuahia.
It was not a perfect start for Comets, as the hosts took an early lead inside six minutes and went into the half time break with the 1-0 lead.
In the second half, Comets started the on a bright note after the introduction of Ebuka Lazarus and Jesam Uket.
However, Ebuka went on a brilliant individual run to dribble past four Coal City FC players, before giving a delightful through pass to Okere Daniel, who was pulled down inside the box as the Referee awarded a penalty to Comets.
Okechukwu, successfully converted the spot kick, after he sent the hosts goalkeeper the wrong way for the equalizer in the 55th minute.
It wasn’t a good ending for Comets as Edeh Chidera slotted it home to make it 2-1 for the hosts in the final 15 minutes of the game.
With the final result in Enugu, Abia Comets’ 12 match unbeaten streak came to an end as the team turns its focus to double home games against Edel FC and Madiba FC.
