Abia Angels of Umuahia have received a pledge of allegiance from one of their star players, as Ada Okechukwu says she is not planning on quitting the team.
In contrast with speculation that she could be on her way of God’s Own State next year, Okechukwu told sports247.ng she has no immediate plans to quit the Nigeria Women’s Premier Football League side.
Incidentally, one of the factors that led to speculation about her future at Abia Angels is the fact that she is also a handball player, but Okechukwu insists the combination is not affecting her in both careers.
Okechukwu declared: “I have been able to combine playing both football and handball for several years and I am happy with support I get in Abia.
“If I am to even think of leaving Abia Angels, that means I will consider moving to another team where I will be guaranteed to continue pursuing both passions in football and handball.”
