The Chairman and management of Youth Football Academy have sent a stern warning to Mr. Jeremiah Avungu, Chairman of J.M Liberty Football Club, and Coach Prince Idofia to resolve the issue of Sunday James Edeh’s clearance and transfer to FC One Rocket.
Abdulahi Sani Baba, proprietor and coach of the Benue state-based academy, alleges that J.M Liberty FC falsified clearance documents and sold Sunday James to FC One Rocket for one million naira without due process.
Baba claims he released Sunday James on a two-year loan to John Gaddy, a former player and current goalkeeping trainer at Heartland FC, who was then coaching J.M Liberty FC. After the loan expired, Baba expected J.M Liberty FC to release his player, but instead, they sold Sunday James to FC One Rocket without his consent.
Coach Prince Idofia denied any involvement, stating that Mr. Jeremiah Avungu, J.M Liberty FC’s proprietor, was responsible for the transfer. However, Avungu admitted receiving five hundred thousand naira from Coach Idofia, claiming he was unaware of the total transfer fee of one million naira.
The management of Youth Football Academy has threatened to take the matter to FIFA if not resolved promptly.
