Former Super Eagles defender, Abdul Sule has added his expert voice to reactions of the Nigerian team’s 3-2 win away to Libya, but advised that the squad must improve on their scoring abilities.
In an interview with sports247.ng on Wednesday, Sule reckoned that the Eagles would have won by a wider margin than they did in Sfax, Tnusnia had they been able to convert half chances that came their way.
Sule recounted how hurt he was to see the Eagles waste some scoring chances that would have settled the tie before the Libyans equalized.
He, however, concluded by admitting that lads gave a good account of themselves, as they have earlier beaten the same team 4-0 in Uyo on Saturday, which he says shows signs of better things to come.
Sule declared: “The boys were good in both matches, but I wished them to score more goals in the second leg.
“They lost many half chances, even some begging ones, that would have seen them wrap up the match before the Libyans equalized.
“Overall, they were good and I wish to see them qualify and, at the same time, I am wishing the team a safe trip back home.
