Uzbekistan based Nigerian midfielder, Michael Ibe has said that the former Akwa United and current Plateau United coach, Abdu Maikaba is one of the best coaches in the NPFL.
In an Instagram chat today, Ibe said the 2017 Aiteo Cup winner is a great coach.
‘Maikaba knows his job, his tactics are of quality and he’s really a great coach. He knows my quality and knows what I can deliver’.
Narrating on how he joined Plateau United, the 24-year-old said ‘After winning the player of the season and club’s highest goal scorer awards in Jordan, I returned home. Lots of offers were on the table, including that of South Africa’s Kaizer Chiefs and Enyimba FC; Maikaba got to know I was around and called if I would like to join his team while I’m still around, knowing him well, I could not resist’.
Picking his best match in Plateau United colours, Ibe said ‘my time at Plateau was short but I enjoyed every moment. Everyone was supportive but my best match, I can’t choose between Nasarawa United and Delta Force. I enjoyed myself in both matches but I scored and got an assist against Delta Force’.
Ibe played under Abdu Maikaba at Akwa United before reuniting with him at Plateau United in 2019.
