The Aba Sports Club 1926 Golf Section is gearing up to host the Captain/Lady Captain’s Inaugural Golf Tournament, scheduled to tee off on March 29, 2025, at the golf section in Aba, Abia State.

The tournament, organized by the Local Organising Committee (LOC) under the chairmanship of Chief Greg Esotu, expects to attract over 180 amateur golfers from across Nigeria, as well as invited professional golfers. The event will feature Captains and Lady Captains from golf clubs in the South-South and South-East States.
Golfers will compete in various categories, including men’s, ladies’, veterans, and guests. The first 20 female golfers to register will receive free accommodation for the duration of the tournament.
The tournament aims to raise funds primarily for the Exco budget, exceeding ₦170 million, which will be used for equipment purchase/upgrade and course maintenance.
The golf section Captain, Mr. Collins Ekwueme, and Lady Captain, Chief Mrs. Comfort Jerry Kalu, assumed office in May 2024 and will serve until 2026. Under their leadership, the golf section has witnessed significant developments and innovations, including improvements to the course fairways and greens, as well as the activation of full GPS coordinates.
The official tee-off for the tournament is scheduled for 6:30 am to 10:00 am, while the closing ceremony and presentation of prizes will hold from 3:00 pm. Interested golfers can register online by paying a registration fee of ₦20,000 into the Aba Sports Club Golf Tournament account and submitting their registration details using the online registration link.
