The inaugural Cool Hopefuls Cup is set to take place on February 10, 2025, at FC Ebedei Stadium in Apele-Sagamu, Sports247 reports
This pre-season scouting event, aimed at teams from the Nationwide League One, is proudly sponsored by Ebedei Sports College.
Tunde Shamsudeen, a prominent media figure and the event’s coordinator, expressed, “The Cool Hopefuls Cup is a significant tournament that unites top teams, fosters youth football, and opens up career opportunities for budding talents. Our slogan, ‘Teamwork Makes the Dream Work,’ encapsulates this spirit.”
He further noted that the Cool Hopefuls Cup will be a highlight of Ebedei Sports College’s football calendar, featuring clubs with promising players from the NLO.
The tournament will consist of eight teams, including those from the Nationwide League One Division One and the NLO U19 Youth League, organized into two groups of four: Group A and Group B.
Each team will engage in a round-robin format, with the top four teams—two from each group—progressing to the semi-finals and ultimately the final match.
Additionally, the preseason event will serve as a valuable scouting opportunity, with top scouts present to observe all 15 matches.
All games will be held on the two state-of-the-art pitches at FC Ebedei Stadium and will be broadcast live on FC Ebedei TV.
