Shooting Stars new Goalkeepers trainer, John Dosu has enunciated the importance of goalkeeping department to the success of football team and he harped on why handlers of such indispensable department should birth another shot stoppers for the nation.
The former Warri Wolves and Akwa United shot stopper made this submission shortly after one of the Nigeria’s continental representatives, Plateau United lost 3-0 to Libyan outfit, Al-Akhdar on Wednesday. He said the goalkeeper has no fault in any of the 3 goals.
“In football parlance, the World Football Governing Body, FIFA and CAF give a high premium to goalkeeping department, regarding it as the most sensitive department in football. While goalkeeper is given up to 4 minutes and above for medical attention in the field of play, other players would would have been stretched off if such injury is taking more than 120 seconds on the pitch.
Former MFM coach added that:”It would be recalled that the same department has been a thing of concern at the senior team, Super Eagles but I believe it will be a thing of the past soon.

It would be recalled that the Management of Shooting Stars unveiled former Remo Stars coach as their new coach going into the 2022/2023 season.
The club hierarchy announced the return of the team’s former goalkeeping legend ,John Dosu to its coaching department.
Dosu, a former shot stopper of Oluyole Warrior will work as the the lanky goalkeeper pitched his tent with MFM FC last season and is expected to impact on the goalkeeping department of Shooting Stars with his wealth of experience.
