NWFL SUPER-6: Bayelsa Queens Will Keep Pushing, Captain Chinyere Igboamalu Sets High Targets

Bayelsa Queens of Yenagoa are thinking seriously about winning this year’s Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Super-6 and captain of the side, Chinyere Grace Igboamalu vowed that they will keep pushing until they achieve their target.

Speaking with Sports 247 in the post- match interview, Igboamalu thanked God for their 2-0 victory over Confluence Queens on Wednesday and assured their fans that the squad would keep working hard until the NWFL trophy is in their grip.

The skipper, who scored the day’s second goal in the 88th minute of play, disclosed further that she was excited seeing Zainab Olopade net the opening goal in the 24th minute.

She went on to pledge that she and her team mates will not underrate any opponent, as they aim to wrap up the title this weekend on their home turf.

She, however, admitted it will not be a stroll in the park, as every team competing in the NWFL title decider at Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa,

Bayelsa State came fully charged to be crowned champions.

“We thank God for everything. It has been things of great expectations for us, and we thank God it has come to pass.

“They are a good team, that’s why I am happy we beat them. For me, and as my coach also says, every team is not a pushover in this competition.

“Every team came prepared. We just thank God that we are lucky and we have the win. We will just keep on pushing,” the Bayelsa Queens’ captain concluded.

Bayelsa Queens will come up against Heartland Queens on Match Day 4 of the ongoing NWFL Super – 6 championship.
