All is now set for the much publicised 10th Anniversary Celebrations of Buruj Sports Academy holding today (Sunday) at the Araromi Youth Development Centre, Gbagada RoundAbout, Gbagada, Lagos, as friends and fans of the Ikorodu-based academy gather to celebrate excellence in grassroots soccer development.
The event which would be electrified with soccer and music performance will see the young players of the academy showcase their footballing potential and skills, while Fuji music exponent, Alhaji Abass Akande Obesere, who doubles as Chairman Board of Trustees of the academy will lead some upcoming music artistes to thrill the invited guests and fans in an atmosphere of friendship and camaraderie.
The customised entry kits which will serve as entry outfit to the venue is still on sale while all logistics and security matters that will ensure maximum enjoyment and safety of the guests and fans have been put in place.
The first leg of the event was held in faraway London last year where award of recognition was given to some distinguished personalities who have contributed in no small measure to the growth and development of the academy since inception about a decade ago.
Speaking ahead of the event, the CEO of the academy, Salaudeen Waheed, was full of gratitude to the Almighty God for given him the vision that gave birth to the academy. He also expressed his appreciation to so many individuals too numerous to mention for their unflinching support in the last ten years.
He reiterated his firm belief that the academy will enter a new phase of relevance and accomplishments with the level of support people of good will have been showing ahead of the event just as he challenged them to storm the venue on Sunday with their kits to identify with the noble cause.
The event will definitely be a watershed in the annals of the history of institution that was established with a mission to take youths off the streets away from restiveness and unproductive exuberance by helping them to develop their natural talents as a requisite.
