At the LAB Memorial Carnival Season 3, 36 Lions FC clinched a victory over Arepo Bombers FC, winning 4-3 in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw in regular time.
The star of the match, Olikuntuyi Juwon, played a pivotal role in securing the win.
In a post-match interview with Sports 247, Olajuwon shared his exhilaration over the victory. “We were relaxed on the 1-0 lead so we thought we have won the match. The penalty gave us the win and I’m so excited because it was absolutely excellent for me,” he said.
Reflecting on his mindset before the match, Juwon revealed his confidence in the team’s ability to secure a win. “My expectation is that we are not going to enter the penalty. I believe that we have won this match already before playing,” he stated.
