Another shower of accolades has come the way of Lagos State Football Association (LSFA) chairman, Hajji Gafar Olawale Liameed, with Coach Adesina Yusuf hailing his boss’ youth development efforts.
Coach Adesina, who is head of Lagos State football team’s technical crew, noted Liameed’s encouragement of young players in the recent FA Cup as well as several talent hunt ventures in The Centre of Excellence.
He further pointed out that Liameed has already made a credible impact under one month of becoming LSFA’s substantive chairman and expressed optimism that the astute administrator’s efforts will be felt further in this year’s Greensprings Youth Camp.
With the talent programme set to run from April 7 to 11 at Greensprings School, Ajah, Lagos, Adesina is of a view that LSFA will again play a key role in producing more stars of the future for Nigerian football and the world at large.
The amiable tactician disclosed further that 15 coaches will be seconded from LSFA to support some expatriates that will run the venture for a week, starting this Sunday, with youngsters from various localities expected in attendance.
He added, “I want to congratulate our chairman, Hajji Liameed Gafar. Since he assuned office, he has been doing wonderfully well. The FA Cup final and other competitions are there as proof of his success so far.
“He has also given support for some young players to go to Greensprings Camp, the sponsored some board members of Lagos State Sports Commission.
“I want to say kudos to them for what they have done so far, and we expect it to show during Greensprings Camp. This year’s camp is from April 7 to 11and we expect that one or two scholars will be at LSFA secretariat.
“For the past ten years, Lagos State Football Association has been doing wonderfully well with Greensprings. We have a lot of players that have been going from Lagos State Football Association to Greensprings’ pitch.
“They have been doing very well in their football and education careers. This year, we are also participating, and Lagos is presenting 15 coaches from the state to support the white coaches technically for the week long programme.
“So, I want to appreciate all the coaches that are going to the camp, and I want to assure them that they will have a good time there.”
