U-20 AFCON: Winning is our only concern against Niger –Paul Aigbogun

Flying Eagles head coach Paul Aigbogun has stated that he has set plans in motion and will do everything possible to guarantee maximum points for the team against host Niger Republic in her final group match at the ongoing CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Flying Eagles failed to pick the semi final ticket as they played out a goalless draw against the Amajita’s of South Africa in a game where the Southern African nation ensured that the Eagles failed to create clear cut chances.

Going into the tournament Aigbogun had stated that his main aim is not to win the trophy buy a chance to book a 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup ticket and has clearly reemphasized that that remains the team’s aim going into their final group game and victory is paramount.

Speaking ahead of the game coming up today at the Stade General Seyni Kountche in Niamy by Aigbogun said; “It’s a normal game that we could not avoid. One thing we know is that Niger is a good team. Against South Africa it was difficult despite playing well but we will work hard against Niger. We will fight to win.”

Should Nigeria top the group, their semi final match will be against either the Black Starlets of Ghana or Mali on the 13th of February in Niamy.
