Stella Mbachu, a former Super Falcons player, has voiced her concerns over the late arrival of the Super Falcons at their training camp.
She criticized the team’s delayed camping approach, citing potential impacts on the coaches’ ability to strategize effectively and implement tactical plans ahead of match days.
Mbachu highlighted that the delayed camping strategy is primarily due to the team’s heavy reliance on foreign-based players who also have club commitments.
She emphasized that this late arrival limits the team’s preparation time and cohesion-building efforts.
Expressing her views, Mbachu stated, “My assessment now is this, number one. They are coming to camp. It’s late. They are coming to camp to a group. It’s very, very late for me. It’s not too good.”
She further elaborated, “At least grouping early will give the coaches more time to bring that pattern they will play, or the style of play they will play, or the formation they want to play early.”
Mbachu emphasized the importance of early group formation, citing examples from other national teams like South Africa, where early grouping facilitates effective preparation and tactical development.
Mbachu expressed her belief that the Super Falcons’ late camping approach could hinder their performance and urged for earlier camp arrivals to allow sufficient time for strategic planning and team cohesion.
