The Remo Stars, who had high hopes of securing maximum points, were left disheartened as the match ended in a draw. This result is a significant setback to their title aspirations, especially against a team that is currently at the bottom of the NPFL.
Ogunmodede expressed his disappointment, stating, “We came here for the maximum points. We knew what it means to get the maximum 3 points but unfortunately we couldn’t get it. It’s a mess on our part. I am not happy with the result.”
He further emphasized the importance of every point at this crucial stage of the league. “Every match we want to play, we want to get maximum points,” he said, highlighting the team’s approach to always aim for a win.
Despite the setback, Ogunmodede remains hopeful and determined. He assured that his players will approach the upcoming games with a positive mindset, ready to fight like wounded lions.
“This is not the time to play around. This is football and anything can happen. You need to fight like a warrior and what a warrior does is that there is no home or away ground,” he added.
This recent match has indeed put the Remo Stars in a challenging position. However, with their unwavering spirit and determination, they are ready to face the subsequent games head-on. As the league enters its business end, it remains to be seen how the team will bounce back from this setback.
