“Not to be complacent, as a champion you always have that mindset to want to remain a champion. It’s more work, it’s not going to be a shoulder in the pack. So we always tell them to do what they have to do, stay focused and be as professional as possible,” Ozegbagbei emphasized.
Looking ahead to the final showdown, Ozegbagbei acknowledged the challenge posed by Inter Lagos but expressed confidence in his team’s ability to rise to the occasion. “It’s going to be an interesting final. We know Inter from the league, we saw them for every match comes with its own challenges. We’re going to watch the videos and we’re going to make strategies, make plans, make more options for possibilities on Sunday,” he added.
Ikorodu City‘s path to the final was paved with a convincing 3-0 victory over First Bank in the semi-final clash at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena. Reflecting on their upcoming opponents, Ozegbagbei asserted that he knows their style of play and will strategize accordingly to secure victory on Sunday.
